Shared Motherhood

Shared motherhood is a popular choice for same sex couples.

It means that both of you can be involved in the parenting process at the conception stage. One partner goes through IVF treatment to produce some eggs which are collected and fertilised with donor sperm.

Embryos are created and cultured in the laboratory. The best embryo is transferred into her partner’s womb, and she then carries the pregnancy.

This type of arrangement can be combined with egg sharing.

“A beautiful baby girl will be joining us later in the year and it’s all thanks to you wonderful people. Your support throughout the last year was truly amazing.”
