Mr David Chui graduated in Medicine & Surgery from the University of Leicester Medical School in 1984 and completed his training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Leicester and Cardiff.
He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and a Member of the British Fertility Society. He was appointed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust in 2000 and is currently the Lead Clinician of the East Sussex NHS Fertility Service.
He completed his sub-specialty reproductive medicine training in Cardiff under the guidance of Professor Robert Shaw and Dr Sheila Walker. He also spent 2 years (1998 – 2000) as Assistant Professor at St Mary’s Hospital, University of Hong Kong, gaining valuable research and clinical experience in assisted reproductive therapy including IVF, under the auspices of Professor PC Ho and Professor Ernest Ng.
David’s sub-specialty experience in the field of reproductive medicine spans over 28 years, both in the United Kingdom and abroad, and his expertise includes fertility sparing and enhancing procedures involving laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery and microsurgery, and the management of various female hormone related conditions affecting menstruation.
He was the Medical Director and ‘Person Responsible’ of the former Sussex Downs Fertility Centre at BMI The Esperance Hospital for 17 years until 2020. During this time, he led his fertility team in exemplary manner, resulting in exceptional success and outcome, as well as high patient satisfaction ratings.
David is delighted and honoured to join the Agora team and bring his expertise and experience to benefit our patients. He is primarily based at Agora Eastbourne.
He provides a comprehensive and expert overview of all his patients’ fertility issues and formulates considered and detailed treatment plans on an individual basis. He works closely with the rest of the Agora fertility team to provide an outstanding and high-quality fertility service that is patient-centred and always delivered with empathy and compassion throughout the patients’ journey.
