We didn’t just win one award, but two at the 2024 Sussex Business Awards! CEO of the Year and Large Business of the Year!

2024 has been an extraordinary year for The Agora Clinic, and this recognition truly is the icing on the cake. As a Fertility Clinic entrusted with a significant NHS workload, we are immensely proud of these achievements. They reflect the success of our patient-centric and equitable fertility care model, which ensures there are no waiting lists for our patients.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to David Boosey who judged the Large Business of the year category for highlighting the positive impact the Agora Clinic has made in our community. He praised us for our approach, deeply rooted in compassion, empathy and professionalism, as well as our patient-centric commitment to supporting every fertility journey, which was clearly the driving force behind the impressive growth we’ve seen in the last few years. David also applauded us for our dedication to inclusivity, workplace wellbeing, sustainability, and charity work through our various CSR initiatives and congratulated us for “setting the standard for responsible business practices and high-performing teams’.

We were also delighted to see our Founder and Medical Director, Dr Carole Gilling-Smith being recognised with the CEO of the Year award! Category judge Liz Beck said on the night “With such phenomenal entries for this award, it was a challenging task to pick just one winner… but huge congratulations are well deserved for Carole Gilling-Smith from the Agora Clinic for her inspiring and visionary leadership, investment in her colleagues and unwavering dedication to the individuals and families they support.” As you can imagine this was an incredible honour for Carole who gave particular thanks in her acceptance speech to her late father, who had always encouraged her believe in her vision, something she has never failed to do since opening the Agora 18 years ago.

This night will be cherished by our team for years to come. These awards are a reflection of their hard work, loyalty, and dedication to our patients, each other, and our community. We are immensely proud of their engagement and commitment, which have been instrumental in our success.

As a family business, we would like to give a special shout out to Michele Gilling-Ulph, Chris Gilling-Ulph, Stephen Ulph, and Sebastian Gilling-Ulph for their invaluable contributions to our journey.

A big thank you also goes to our amazing leadership team—Simone Wernbacher, Anita Chau, Cheryl Lambe, Kerry Martin, and Katie Noble—for their unwavering support and leadership.

It was fantastic to see Donna Holland and Amanda Hetherington raise significant funds for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity during the evening. These funds will go a long way in supporting children and teenagers who may find themselves spending time in hospital this Christmas.

As we step into 2025, these accolades inspire us to aim even higher. We remain committed to advancing fertility care, supporting our community, and leading with compassion and innovation. Here’s to another year of making a difference in the lives of those we serve!

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey. Your trust and support mean the world to us. Here’s to continued success and impact in the year ahead!
