Karen graduated from Leicester Medical School in 1987 and completed her GP training in Northamptonshire. Before joining the medical team at the Agora, she was GP Principal in Worthing for over 20 years. Her main area of interest is women’s health and she has extensive experience in all aspects of infertility and family planning, including fitting coils and contraceptive implants. Karen is a member of the British Fertility Society and has a long standing interest in infertility.
In 2006 she was invited to form a GP led fertility service that replaced the consultant led service at Worthing Hospital. She was one of three specialist GPs who took responsibility for investigating infertile couples from the local area and referring them on for assisted conception. This pioneer scheme was highly successful and in 2012 the ‘Specialist Fertility GP’ model was rolled out throughout the whole of West Sussex.
Karen joined the Agora in 2013. She has completed specialist training in all aspects of fertility care, including ultrasound assessment, egg collection and embryo transfer through the British Fertility Society special skills programmes. Her GP background brings a unique perspective to patient care at the Agora. Karen lives in Worthing with her husband and two teenage children.
